Every avid cyclist’s heard of the legendary Bwlch climb for one very good reason – it takes no prisoners. The Bwlch has attracted national fame due to a number of events and is on the radar of every serious rider’s radar. Although The Bwlch can be tackled by three optional ascents, the Hard as Nails riders will be taking the most southern route taking riders through Bwlch Yr Clawdd and finishing at Bwlch Yr Afan.

Dubbed ‘Little Switzerland’, The Bwlch will meander its riders up 304 metres high into the vast valleys of this breathtaking region. Make sure to keep holding pace soaking up the scenery, whilst battling one of the most scenic yet challenging climbs in the Southern Valleys of Wales

The word ‘bwlch’ (approximately pronounced ‘b-oo-lch’) is Welsh for ‘gap’, or pass.
